Willie

Willie's commentary on CNN:

Willie Nelson: We have a lot to learn from horses

I love this quote from him:

The most superhuman thing about horses is the contrast between their unearthly strength and inherent gentleness. Humans abuse their power while horses use theirs only for good. I'd rather be a horse.

He also notes: Will Rogers said, "You know horses are smarter than people. You never heard of a horse going broke betting on people."

The picture below is of Scarlett Johansson from The Horse Whisperer

Hi bsb.

I've always had an affection for horses. One of my granddaughters, only 2 and half years old, really loves horses and can't ever pass up a chance for a ride. I can see grandpa buying a pony in the future.

And I had a chance to plug the "The Horse Whisperer", excellent book, Nicholas Evans is such a great writer bringing together different generations and attitudes to tell amazing stories. "The Loop" is another great read by him, a tale of wolves, and the clash old and new attitudes towards their place in nature.

The movie "The Horse Whisperer" was wonderful also, highly recommended even if your not a horse lover, and I've never seen Scarlett in a bad role, but I'm biased.

I have to watch those movies by myself. I don't want others seeing my emotions when I watch those kind of movies.

Sometimes, it the happy parts that make me cry.

Nice to have grandchildren while you're so young!

As for Willie Nelson, he's a treasure, and glad he's bringing this issue to people's attention. I would love it most of all if they stopped slaughtering all animals.
