Then Monday comes along, and it is one of those days where everything is annoying. Slow drivers; one other driver on the road, and that slow idiot has to be in front of me, in a no passing zone. At least do the bloody speed limit! All the damn lights are turning red just as I approach, can't somebody get these lights in synch. People at work are talking too loud, the managers are in the corner laughing very loudly, comparing their weekend golf scores and the football games. I can't freaking think. The mind meter in my head has gone from "Bliss" to "Overload" in just a matter of minutes.
Someone better get the freaking Helliday decorations away from my desk or they are all going in the trash.
Someone better get the freaking Helliday decorations away from my desk or they are all going in the trash.

Those damn decorations are all over our office too. Call me a grinch but I prefer to keep work-home-religion-government all separate from each other.
ReplyDeleteAll that crap in the office just annoys me. Monday-itis must be catching ;-).
Our whole lobby is decorated too! Humbug!! They can keep the tinsel away from me too, but the cookies can stay. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLast year my boss asked me to design the holiday card that the company would send out. I refused. I am getting so uppity even I can't believe it.
despair.com is great! they are located in my town.
Reminds me of that hilarious movie "Office Space." Ah, The Monday's.
ReplyDeleteI think I know exactly what you need...
ReplyDeleteA MASSAGE.. now I think that would relax you and make you feel good alllllll over....;-)
I'm thinking about something else that would make you feel good.. but I'll just keep it to myself.. ;-)
Have a great evening!
XOXOXOXOXOX
P.S. I've been experiencing pain lately... gosh I truly hope I don't look like that guy...scary!
Pam - I get into moods when everything annoys me, another weird thing about me. Mondays just make it so much worse. Doctors have told me its chemical thing, but I think it just annoying people around when my endorphine high crashes. (oh, I guess that is chemical, partly)
ReplyDeleteBlue - I discovered despair.com a couple of years ago and wanted to pin up the those posters in my cubicle. I was told it wasn't "appropriate". Managers (PHB) have no sense of humor.
hill - LOL. "Someone has a case of the Mondays."
If someone had said that to me today I would've screamed.
BSB, Massage? Are you offering? ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt might be better if I give you the massage, it would have the same effect for me, whether giving them or receiving. Just the human touch makes, uh, chemicals flowing in our bloodstream. ;-)
Keeping thoughts secret? why?
I hope I at least made you smile. You have a great evening, also.
Hugs and kisses.
Thanks for the link to despair.com. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think I need the poster of destiny!
Monday, Monday. Thank goodness I am working from home.
ReplyDeleteIndeed you did make me smile.. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThankxxxxx
Bonne nuit. xoxox

ReplyDeleteCelibrate the real holiday. Saturnalia. The Roman (Pagan) winter solstice holiday season that was co-opted by 4th century Christians. (in the spirit of you can't beat'em join'em)
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturnalia
Hi rg,
ReplyDeleteYes I've known about Saturnalia for a long time. Most of the rituals we celebrate for Xmas, brightly colored decorations, gift giving, feasts, parties, etc, originated by the Romans long before it was designated as Xmas. Actually all the traditions came from the same origins as the Halloween and Easter rituals we now celebrate. There were pagan celebrations from the Fall, Winter, and Spring to celebrate the passing of the seasons and please the "gods" of the harvest or of the coming growing season. The winter solstice festival was aimed and making the short cold days a little more tolerable with festivities, decorations and parties..... blah, blah, blah.
The reason for the season? If its about the birth of a child and the belief in his teachings, I can't tell it from the way they (Christians) celebrate this "holy" day.
