Spiritual Apatheism

If you look to the written words of man to define morality, you will not find it.

Morality, the goodness inherent in all animals, is not acquired by the promise of reward or the threat of punishment.

Grow up. You don't need someone to tell you wrong from right.

Santa will bring you what you want if you're good, but your evil step-brother will take it away because he broke all his stuff, so give him all your stuff and he won't have anything to take from you. Moral: Material world is temporary and brings much dissappointment.

Everyone needs to relax about religion. It's not important.

Organized religion is the worst thing that has ever happened to the world!

Your immortality is created by your influence of others, it is the only thing that has any lasting value.

It doesn't matter how the earth came to be as it is now, what matters is what we do today for the future of earth and the life that exists within it's atmosphere.

We spend too much energy arguing about something (creation) that no one will ever know. I think that energy should be spent making the world better and treating all life as precious gifts from an unknown source.

Theist religions are a creation of humans, for their own conceit and comfort. It is selfish, egocentric and blames the troubles humans have created on something out of their control. It is a way for humans to shift the blame for their faults and weaknesses.

Who cares, does it really matter?

I'm not looking to change your beliefs. I respect people who have faith, please respect my view.

These are written words of a man - Fallible Words.

Everyone is an atheist. What kind of atheist are you?

Do you believe in all the gods ever created in the minds of men?

Do you know for certain that none exist?

I don't care what you think.

Will you get me another beer while you're up? (Smithwicks or Guinness, please)

We have to wonder how much our thoughts and beliefs have been passed on to us. Are they our beliefs or somebody else's?

From our parents, teachers, religious leaders to politicians and the list goes on.

What would you believe if you were not influenced by anyone? We are so conditioned and because of everything we have it does indeed alter our beliefs. We have everything, we don't need anything or anyone to help us through our hardships, right?

When I see my Peruvian friend who sends money to her family because they have NOTHING. The only thing they have is their faith and the hope that things will get better. Who am I to say that they are wasting their time? Let's not forget that we are the spoilt culture who is educated and has the money to evolve and tell us THE truth... ;-)

I simply can't be labelled... what I choose to think or do is not for eveybody that's for sure. I don't have the need to put anybody down and tell them that the way they live is wrong. If I'm not comfortable with their way of life, I simply stay away, end of story.

OK..done with my babbling! lol

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I like quizzes. :)
Here's my results:

What kind of atheist are you?
You scored as a Scientific Atheist
These guys rule. I'm not one of them myself, although I play one online. They know the rules of debate, the Laws of Thermodynamics, and can explain evolution in fifty words or less. More concerned with how things ARE than how they should be, these are the people who will bring us into the future.

Scientific Atheist 100%
Spiritual Atheist 83%
Agnostic 50%
Apathetic Atheist 50%
Militant Atheist 42%
Angry Atheist 25%
Theist 8%

Sounds like you're ready to join the Church of the Holy Brewery. Other religions offer you things like Heaven that you can never check out because, duh, ya gotta be dead first and if you're dead you really don't care anymore. But the Church of the Holy Brewery offers you the very life-blood of civilization itself: Beer. Given that virtually all modern religion is a cargo cult based not upon the desire to formulate a moral framework for living but, rather, getting rewards from the Gods, a religion which is blatant and outright about it and can actually offer you the rewards while you're still alive on this Earth surely will prosper. And its churches are already out there in every neighborhood of America, typically with a red blinking sign outside that says "Budweiser" or "Coors" or other such totemic symbolism (but better yet are those with the magical brewery equipment displayed through glass windows and "Microbrewery" in the name, these are the true temples of the Church of the Holy Brewery). All it takes is a small contribution to the Pastor behind the bar, and you, too, may partake of the elixir of the Gods: Beer.

Good post!

Not surprisingly to myself, I scored as an agnostic.

You scored as a Agnostic
Agnostics consider the possibility that they may be wrong about God's existence, no matter which side of the fence they stand on. Always willing to objectively evaluate the most ridiculous proof, nevertheless, these guys are skeptics of the Nth degree.

I am the Scientific kind. I was equal percents on Scientific, Spiritual and Apathetic. Now brewing good beer... that's a fine science.

You scored as a Spiritual Atheist

Ah! Some of the coolest people in the world are Spiritual Atheists. Most of them weren't brought up in an organized religion and have very little baggage. They concentrate on making the world a better place and know that death is just another part of life. What comes after, comes after.

Spiritual Atheist 92%
Agnostic 75%
Apathetic Atheist 50%
Scientific Atheist 33%
Theist 25%
Angry Atheist 17%
Militant Atheist 0%

I like that description! ;-)
