Farm Aid = Healthy Food

John Mellencamp has always been one of my favorite musicians. Mellencamp, along with Neil Young, are two artists that never sold out to corporate sponsorship. With Willy Nelson they began Farm Aid to educate America about why family farms are so important.

John Mellencamp never figured Farm Aid would still be needed now, 21 years after its debut as one of many moments of musicians trying to do good in the 1980s.

"We started out trying to save the family farm," Willy Nelson said at a pre-concert news conference in which the rockers sat among farmers. "Now, it looks like the family farm is going to save us.
