PB&J

Do something positive today to help save the planet, go make yourself a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich.

From What Do I Know: "The Peanut Butter and Jelly Campaign asks "Who knew it was so easy to change the world?" One peanut butter and jelly sandwich at a time."

OR, you can make one of my favorite post-run meals:

Toasted Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich

- Toast two slices of WHOLE wheat Bread (if it just says wheat, it isn't WHOLE wheat)
- Spread a thick layer of Peanut Butter on the hot toast, so it melts and becomes runny.
- Place banana slices on the Peanut Butter. (There's no wrong way)
- Assemble sandwich.
- Eat.

The melted peanut butter will drip, so it's a good idea to have a Dog around to cleanup the PB drips from your shirt, pants, hands, floor, and furniture. You could eat it over a plate or a napkin, but that wouldn't be as much fun for Dog or you.

- Thanks, What do I know for the PB&J link.

Good morning!

That's quite the vision... but I'm not too keen on drippings all over the place but you can be sure the Honey would indeed lick them all up.

I prefer BP&B ;-)

Have a great day!

One PBJ coming up! As far as I'm concerned, peanut butter is a staple food and it travels well, too. We can save the planet wherever we go.

Hey - I had PB&J for lunch (so did the kids) BEFORE I even read this.

I'm thinking of going back to vegetarian...again. Recently, I went about two weeks without meat just because I didn't want any. Not sure if I can do it now that I have kids though. And my husband absolutely REFUSES to be a vegetarian.

I went veggie before my husband, and eventually he did too. It was his choice. I didn't cook meat at home but he was free to have it (if he wanted to fix it, and he doesn't mind cooking his own stuff) but he found that he didn't want it any more.

I love peanut butter with jelly or honey or bananas, but the weird (and surprisingly delicious) way I have it is with pineapple on a sandwich. It's good!! Really!! It was something my mother used to fix, and I don't know where she got the idea. Maybe in Hawaii.

Nancy - The dripping PB is what makes this sandwich so much fun. XOXOXOXOX

Peacechick - PB is great. I get mine at the local health food store, freshly ground. I also use almond butter.

Pam - I've tried going veggie several times, but it is very hard to get the "quality" protein I need (to keep running) from just veggies, so I eat fish and eggs. I go thru tons of PB.

blueberry - PB & Pineapple does sound Hawaiian.

supergirlest - PB & Mayo. Doesn't sound good to me. I had Peanut Butter and Cheese when I was a kid, it was surprisingly good.

Yum. My Wild Thing has put up a sign in our kitchen that reads: "Try Our Famous Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich".
They are and I do.
