Black & White

Believe or not, in this day and age, segregation still exists in Alabama. What do the majority black or white High Schools do when the drama department wants to do a play like To Kill A Mockingbird? This has always been one of my favorite stories.

Two schools in Birmingham earned a visit from the reclusive author, Harper Lee: Black, White Schools Unite To Stage ‘Mockingbird’

Well, I don't know enough about the situation in your area to really have an opinion. Darn.

i loved 'to kill a mockingbird'

and they never really took away segregation...just seems like they did with laws and such..

but the white people still live in their neighborhoods and the kids go to private schools

and the 'other' people still live in their neighborhoods and go to public schools

and i haffta tell ya, a family i know who have the ability to move to the 'white' part of town in texas...wouldn't dream of it -- as their whole support system, stores, friends live where they live now.

it's too ingrained...

It's been so long since I've seen 'To kill a mockingbird', that I really don't recall it.
