Less Traveled Path

This is what the voices in my head are screaming at me now.........about the Virginia Tech tragedy.

To all the news programs:

Quit glorifying the mentally ill killer. Let's remember the victims and give the killer no air time. If someone else is thinking about doing something similar, the way the news is paying attention to the killer and his message, that someone is deciding that it would be worth it to go ahead with their plans. Look at how the news is making him a martyr! Shame on the news.

To the people watching the news:

Unless it is a program or article honoring the victims, turn it off. Quit watching and reading news about the killer. What you view decides what they program and publish.

To the victims, families:

Forgiveness is the only way. Nothing will turn back time and reverse this horrible event. It was a random act, like a bolt of lightning. Don't give in to the dark monster of revenge, anger, and regret. It will destroy you from the inside out. Remember your loved ones honorably.

We need to learn from this tragedy. Don't let the killer's sickness infect you, also.

Good morning!

I think the major question is "How could this have been prevented?"

The media is trying to point the blame on someone. Part of sensationalism but useless.

This man was a threat to himself and others, people knew about it and unfortunately he snapped.

Not always easy to forgive even if my good Catholic up bringing has thought me to turn the other cheek. It takes time for the healing process to kick in.

I should know, my post today is about revenge.

Love you my friend and you are at a much higher ans wiser level than I. It takes time... ;-)

XOXOXOXOXOX

I get all my news from the interweb. The television is only for entertainment purposes.

I can't even turn on the tv. I don't want my kids seeing those crazy pictures of that killer pointing guns at the camera.

I couldn't agree more!

Whatever.

Do you own a gun?

If not.

Better get one.

Great post. Lots of truth there, forgiveness is the only way to heal, and to forgive is one of the hardest things in the world to do. It's not the same as forgetting. Even when you forgive there is a balance you will deal with forever between forgiving and forgetting.

A bolt of lightning is a good analogy. A bomb is another one. A bomb made with anger.

I'm pretty sure that if I had a gun I'd either shoot myself in the foot or someone would get it away from from me and shoot me with it, maybe shoot some others too.
