Veggie Lover's ***UPDATED***

I wonder if they found a health-freak street person:

The action of this man on the day he was to be murdered by the state of Tennessee, was thoughtful, with an evil edge. He gave up his last meal, to feed someone in need and who had more life in front of them than himself. I'm sure he made it a "Veggie Lover's" because he had some grudge against a carnivorous homeless person.

This makes think of one of my favorite bloggers: Evil Spock

UPDATE **** UPDATE **** UPDATE

The officials performing the murder were not ready to commit any acts of morality. To keep their tradition of hypocrisy, here is what happened:

Prison officials refused to honor his request, saying that they do not donate to charities.

That apparently upset a few people willing to pay for and deliver a lot of pies themselves.

Homeless shelters across Nashville were inundated with donated pizzas all Wednesday.

Donna Spangler heard about Workman's request and immediately called her friends. They all pitched in for the $1,200 bill to buy 150 pizzas, which they sent to the Rescue Mission.

"Philip Workman was trying to do a good deed and no one would help him," said the 55-year-old who recruited a co-worker to help her make the massive delivery Wednesday evening.

Thanks for the shout out!

Nice gesture from Workman. I don't want to go into a tirade about the death penalty, so I'll leave it at that.

that is an interesting move...

to me he was saying -- i'm going to feed someone who would normally eat and the veggie part to me said -- he was sending a message he didn't believe in killing animals to eat..or killing period...

weird eh??

Interesting story.

I'm not too sure what his motives were.

Doing something kind before the big day? But then again, he might have known that they wouldn't accept.

I watched the video and when he kept talking about lethal injection and how it's supposed to feel like.. I was just wondering how it felt like to get shot.

Two wrongs doesn't make it right.

It's a good thing that we don't have the death penality in Canada.

azg made a good point on the "veggie" part. Why support the slaughterhouses with your dying wish?

evil, Nancy, azg, blue - Indeed it was a grand gesture. I think he was showing that he can stand taller than those who seek vengeance by murdering him.

I love veggies, and always order the veggie pizza, with extras "shrooms".

I just wish we didn't have to kill so many vegetables to satisfy our veggie cravings.

Whatever, you die in the end anyway. If death is a concept to you.

Has anyone ever mentioned how sick you and your friends are? Hey, just asking.

But it's not like you are going to have any real relationships with them.

Take care.

Never too late to start doing good!

Nancy - No, I ain't moving over, we'll just have to be sick together. :P Actually that sounds like fun, doesn't it. I think the sicker the better.

Those religious people think you have to do thing their way and believe what they believe,to find happiness. Why do they always seem so miserable?

Love ya, blondie

I think someone is feeling left out.

I'll order BBC the Veggie special, triple the veggies , double sauce and double shrooms (special shrooms), half the cheese, extra thin crust, and just for you we'll put it in a blender and make it all a purée, so you can drink it.

Don't want make you have to chew too much with those falsies.

You up for it? It's on me, and I'm not even being murdered (knock on wood).

mary - I can understand his thinking. The last thing I would want to do is be self-indulgent in my final moments.

I don't know about his guilt or innocence, but it is clear his mind is straight.

Maybe it was a "pay it forward" act, who knows, I hope it keeps going forward.

That is awesome that his request prompted those good deeds.

Many people who commit violent crimes are strung out on drugs or something. He might not have been in his right mind. He seemed clear-headed at the end.

Oh and all of you SICK FRIENDS are very real to me!
