Conundrum
Don't get greedy, pick just one:
Would you rather be asked a question or read my blog?
Sometimes choices are made for us. If I had my way, I'd run everyday, even if it hurt. But pain is telling me to rest for a while. I have a tendon on the back of my leg that gets severely inflamed every time I run. Running actually makes the pain go away for a short time, but then it returns, even worse after I've rested. So, it is not my choice, I must rest if I want to keep running. It is not an easy choice. I went home yesterday and had to force myself not to run. A voice in my head kept saying "Just one more run, then start resting", but I ignored it. The running and the races, my whole life (at least the part of it I enjoy), will be put on hold for a couple of weeks.
I will be leaving tomorrow to spend a week in Virginia, so this is a good time to put a hold on the running. My son, who will turn 25 next month, is getting married on Saturday.
I also will have to put a hold on the blogging for a little while. I demand that y'all behave while I'm away. Party and laugh all you want, this would be a good time to ridicule the guy with "voices in his head". I know, I know; you already do that.
Be back as soon as I can.

Have a great time and we promise to clean up before you get back.
I feel your pain. I have a little something in my foot called mortons nueroma. Gets very painful. But I have learned if I stop and take my shoe off and move it around I can still run. I could have it cut out but I imagine that would mean I couldn't run for a couple weeks.
Enjoy your time away.
Good morning,
Well I think you better listen to your body because your mind can and will play tricks on you. This is what happened to me when I went horseback riding last October and as you know, I've been off work ever since. We should definitely listen to our bodies because it will never lie to us.
Oh! so you're living us for a week, how can you do this? ;-) But I suppose you have a very good reason.
Seriously, it will be nice for you to get away. How far is Virginia from Alabama? I should google it.. LOL That's what FAB would tell me anyway... ;-)
I will miss not having my friend with the voices drop by my place.
Have fun at the wedding. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Love you and take care of yourself.
XOXOXOXOX
I gave up aerobics a few years ago because of foot pain. Now I'm out of shape. Urgh!!
Have fun in Virginia!
Yes Nancy, google it. Have a safe trip nick, are you running there?
Safe journey!
To answer your question... I'd rather read your blog but I'm curious about the question...
Told you I was nosy.
UL - Please leave me a beer.
Mary - I think it is more painful trying to force myself to sit down and rest.
Nancy - I don't travel much, and when I do I usually eat up all my leave visiting kids and grandkids. I need a vacation from vacations, maybe next year. (I keep saying that every year) I'm going to try to check in on the haps in the blogosphere a couple of times during my trip, but I also want to give my internet addiction a break aand visit family, we will be very busy. I'll miss you much. The trip is a 3 Hour fly, 12 hour drive, or 36 hours getting lost and asking directions from toothless backwoods hemp growers. XOXOXXX
Blueberry - I don't know what I would do if I got out of shape, I'd be spending all my time trying to get back in shape. It is an mental problem, I just go with what the voices tell me.
Angry - Didn't you read, I have to give running a break. I'll be taking my Segway to the coast, swim around the penis of the U.S. then up the coast to Va Beach. If all goes as planned and I don't run into sharks, I'll be there for the wedding on the beach Sat. Morning, I'm using a swimming aide Evil Spock recommended.
Evil - Thanks! My travel time should be cut in half thanks to your blog. Say Hi to Sophie.
Nancy - What Question? ;)
Segway? Too cool !!!!
Have you considered taking up biking? It's a lot easier on me than running.
Have a good time.
damn. just when i get a second to read my favorite blogs at long last - you're leaving me!!!
i hope you have a wonderful adventure in virginia and at the weddin'! :)
sending you no more achy tendon vibes!!!
Have a save trip and more importantly.. have fun! ;-)
XOXOXOXOXOXO
Soooo...You'll be swimming....not running....Crap, now I'm all frikken confused. Godfuckingdamnit. I guess telling you to swim to France is kinda pointless right?
I'll take in your mail and water the plants. If I see any creatures around I'll feed them for you.
Have fun but don't run!
behave -- NEVER!!! tee hee -- have a wonderful time and come back rested...
Just checking in.
I'm sure you're having a great time with your family!
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
