The Hunter

I was shocked and saddened by the news this morning of the passing of Steve Irwin, "The Crocodile Hunter". He taught the world to love and respect the animals of our planet, and to "hunt" them without destroying them or their environment. We have all sat amazed as we watched him tempt fate. He raised awareness and educated a whole generation to the beauty and wonder of the animal kingdom. He was killed doing what he loved, he will be missed.

That was a shock, thanks for the link. I enjoyed his programmes so very much when I was in the uk. The one where he had a croc all tied up, then he was about to release him was particularly nail-biting.

But you're right, he was killed doing something he loved and I think that is a great way to go. In a way, like racing drivers, they know they are doing something that can kill them, but they still want to take the risk.

I feel sorry for his wife and kids. He seemed a likeable and passionate man.

I didn't know much about him, not watching any TV. I wanna die on top of a hot redhead.

Sorry - couldn't resist these two witty comments left on another blog - Steve Irwin would have approved no doubt!

He should have used a sunscreen that would have protected him from harmful rays

The crocs clearly paid off the stingrays to do their dirty work for them. I await the squid pro quo.
