Dog Days

Today's Dog Blogging picture is available as a link at the end of this post. It is mind-numbingly cute, and I wanted to post a warning before showing it.

The hot "Dog Days" of summer are here. It has been hot here in the Heart of Alabama since the middle of April, now it is just intolerable, three days so far over 100, and extremely humid, and it's not even summer yet for another week (almost).

This time of the year is not referred to as the Dog days because of the heat, it is because of this Spirit in the Sky, the bright star Sirius, located in the constellation Canis Major.

Dog Days is also the title of a new book (full title is Dog Days: Dispatches from Bedlam Farm) by one my favorite authors, Jon Katz, who has several books about his adventures with his dogs and farm animals on his Bedlam Farm.

Here is a picture of one of his border collie's, which can be seen on his website, and the cover of the new book:

You're right! That photo is for awwwww! I will definitely get this book as I thoroughly enjoy animal books. Bedlam Farm sounds like my house and I roll in it!

Do you have some pulley's I can borrow?

*laughs*

Really, Helen and I have a loving relationship but it isn't sexual. And she wants me to have another woman, she's met the women I've dated over the years.

Anyway, I wonder if you humans will ever evolve high enough spirituality to worship yourselves instead of your dogs and cats and bogymen in the sky.

68.4 degrees here, scattered clouds and light sprinkles come and go. Eat your heart out. Hugs.

OK, there's a reason I don't go to BBC's blog. I don't want to read him going on and on and ON about his craptapulous little life, pontificating about his imagined moral superiority. He's a drunk egomaniac and I want nothing to do with him.

After that sexist and ageist BULLSHIT, in your last comments, I've about had enough.

So, Nick, If I don't come around for awhile, it's not you - it's him.

I try to keep an open forum.

I haven't read his blog for a long time, but he keeps coming around to leave messages. My best advice is to try to ignore him, although he hasn't been as much of a bully lately as in the past. His missives confirm his lack of humanity. I let him live in the delusion he's created for himself.

I don't approve of name calling, but since Pam has only stated the obvious, I agree with her.

He is just fishing for arguments because it is a game to him, best not to play along, but too late for that now.

Thanks for the message at my place.

Kudos to you for keeping an open forum. I can't say I would do the same with him ;-).

Anyway....this has been building for a long time. It started (again) with that nasty, hateful comment he posted about Nancy and he keeps on going further down the hill with every new comment.

Hill cheered me up by forwarding me the old "BALLS ON CHIN" photo she posted when he was harassing her blog. That was very therapeutic ;-)!

:-)

Hear, hear! to the BBC Balls on Chin pix.

Nick, you have shown more more patience with having the open forum than I would have. Negativity directed toward me is unwelcome in my own space. If they want to trash me, they have to do it elsewhere, not at my place.

I need a good dose of mind-numbing cuteness everyday! I mean, what can it hurt?
